Scout

Frequently asked questions

Is Scout free?

Yes — searching, building and comparing on Scout is completely free.

Do you sell products?

No. Scout doesn't stock or sell anything. We search across hundreds of stores and send you to the retailer to buy.

Where do the prices come from?

Live from Google Shopping across many retailers. Prices and availability can change or be out of date, so always confirm on the store page.

How does the AI build / recommendation work?

Tell Scout your budget and goal (e.g. "gaming PC for $800"). It plans the parts, prices each across stores, picks a set that works together, and explains why — with alternatives you can swap in.

Are the builds guaranteed to be compatible?

No — compatibility is AI-estimated from product details, not a verified parts database. It's a strong starting point, but double-check key fits (socket, RAM, wattage, clearance) before buying.

What are the "~1 in 3 reviews mention…" notes?

AI summaries of the themes commonly reported in reviews for a product. They're honest estimates to guide you, not exact statistics.

Do I need an account?

No. Your saved items, comparisons and history live in your browser — nothing to sign up for.

How does Scout make money?

Through affiliate commissions when you buy via our links — at no extra cost to you. It never affects which results we show.
